Home Trainers
As sad as it is for many people the rest of life sometimes gets in the way of putting in as many miles on the bike as you would like. Whether it is work and family commitments or a spate of bad weather, sometimes it is just impossible to get out on your regular rides.
A home trainer can be the perfect solution to this problem allowing you to train in the comfort of your own home on your regular bike. With a home trainer you can cycle at any time of day or night and do so listening to your favourite tunes or watching your favourite TV shows. There are even some great training DVDs available such as the Spinervals series to help you get the most out of your workout.
Here are a few of our most popular models:
Minoura Mag 500D
This is one of our all time most popular trainer models, offering heaps of good features at a very competive price. The 500D is a mag trainer meaning the resistance is created by a magnet, in this case attched to a 500g flywheel. You can adjust the level of resistance for harder workouts quickly and easily, and there is even a model with handlebar controlled resistance available (though this feature is only really needed on single speed bikes) for an extra $50.

Minoura Mag 850D
All the great features of the 500D but this time with a heavier 850gram flywheel. The heavier flywheel means greater resistance and harder workouts. Great for the racer or fitter cyclist looking to really push themselves on the home trainer.

Minoura 850RDA
They 850 RDA also runs on magnetic resistance and an 850gram flywheel but in this case the trainer runs off the barking surface on your rim rather then your tyre. This trainer is very adjustable for use with different types of bicycle and is the most popular choice with mountain bikes whose knobby tyres don’t work on a standard tyre drive trainer.

Minoura VFS Fluid Trainer
Fluid trainers use a hydraulic system alongside of a magnet to generate resistance. The fluid system is generally regarded as giving the trainer a smoother feel then the magnetic versions. Fluid trainers also provide more realistic resistance as they exponentially increase the level of resistance as you pedal harder.

RavX TX-1
This is the best value trainer we sell and the perfect choice for someone looking for light training or who might only use their trainer during wet weather. A magnetic resistance model the TX-1 doesn't feature any resistance adjustment but by using the gears on yoru bike you can still get a fantastic workout from this quality budget trainer.
$225
RavX TX-4
A fantastic trainer with some really well thought out features the TX-4 has handlebar contolled magnetic resistance to let you really tailor fit your training session. The standout feature is the poly-urethance roller that contacts your tyre. Unlike the metal roller on many trainers the poly-urethance roller puts less wear on your tyre resulting in significantly longer life.
